Hi Friends!

Greetings from Mumbai!

Second week of the new year, hope you are holding up true to your resolutions.

Here is this week’s Saturday-Pentacle. Enjoy!

Issue 205 // Week 2 // 2022

A book I’m reading

Millionaire on fast lane – The name of the book sounds scammy but it’s filled with insights and advice. Author MJ DeMarco describes the traditional way of earning money and getting rich as Slow Lane.

He shuns a lot of traditional wisdom. i.e. ‘living below your means’, ‘investing in index funds’ and ‘saving for retirement’.

On the other hand, he describes Fast Lane to start a venture which follows the CENTS formula.

If you want you can check out this review of the book by Ali Abdaal.

A podcast episode I loved

Kevin Rose-Darya Rose podcast episode – This episode was fun where Kevin and his wife Darya discussed – New year resolutions or rather reflected on the previous year. Discussing kids, new things Kevin is getting into, all while drinking wine.

A Tweet which I loved —

Friendship of Archbishop Desmond Tutu and the 14th Dalai Lama (known as Gyalwa Rinpoche to the Tibetan people).

Beautiful.

A tool for Twitter Growth —

Hypefury – Found this amazing tool for Twitter audience growth. Here are top 5 features it has –

  • Automation of Tweet publishing
  • Engagement builder – Engagement with pro twitter users. You don’t need to go to Twitter to engage with big accounts, cause that takes you to a rabbit hole and you waste so much time. In Hypefury’s engagement builder section you can put in your favorite big accounts and reply to their latest tweets from their itself.
  • Make TweetShot (images) of your favorite Tweet’s and publish them to Instagram directy.
  • Auto Generate quotes for publishing (you can review before queueing them up for publishing)
  • AutoPlug – if one of your tweets is getting popular, then the app can automatically put a new tweet in the thread as a plug to your newsletter or a product or whatever you want to market.

Really loving this and using this extensively since past few weeks. I might love it too. If you want to join in here is a referral link which can get you a free trial period.

Quote which I found meaningful –

There is a voice that doesn’t use words. Listen.

— Rumi

Until Next Saturday!

Thanks for supporting and reading.

A recent episode of my Podcast

Episode 16 – Ashish Bedekar (Chief Product Officer of picoNets and a Startup Mentor) – Predicting the future by the patterns of the past – In this episode, I’m talking to Ashish Bedekar who is the Chief Product Officer of Piconets (a company which is working on revolutionising Content Delivery Network system by working acceleration the last mile performance. To simply say he is making the Internet sites you see daily, load on lighting speeds and meanwhile decrease the cost.

He is also a productivity expert and start-up mentor. He works with many start-up incubators to nurture and support start-up companies who are focusing on clean-tech, energy, Internet of Things (or IoT).

There are a lot of small tools and apps you’ll learn in this episode about and can implement to improve your productivity.

A short film which caught my eye —

Fragile Forests – Even thought this short film is an ad, but go and see like you didn’t know and you’ll never ever know, that it was filmed entirely on a mobile phone.

Just mind-blowing shots and mesmerising music both by Tim Kellner.

A photo gallery I loved –

Discover’s Science Images of the Year 2019 – here are the Science images of year 2019. A superb collection including the famous first photo of a black hole.

Quote I’m pondering on lately –

Do not let the behavior of others destroy your inner peace.

A product which got me curious

eto

eto: a beautiful innovation in wine preservation – This product was showcased in one of the mails I received from a crowdfunding platform. It’s a wine decanter. This means you can pour your wine into this and let the wine open up the taste, but the most amazing feature of this decanter is that it has a mechanism to air seal the wine which remained from the bottle and it can be consumed after weeks as same as a fresh wine bottle.

If you are a wine connoisseur, this product might be just something you were looking for.

A song I loved —

Walls by Kings of Leon – This song from Kings of Leon has come back to my evening playlist. This song is like a morning after the grieving night. It’s sad but it’s beautiful too at the same time. Like the realisation of good things after they have gone.

Ok. Enough said. Go listen now.

A thought which germinated while meditating to binaural beats – It might sound cliché but here it is –

If you think about it, odds of something happening; especially if it’s something you want, might be 1 in a zillion of possibilities.

They say that if you really want something, the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it. But I think that’s only when you take the first step in that quest. It’s when you take the leap of faith.

What is it that you want? What would be your first step?

Quote I’m pondering on lately –

Being aware of a single shortcoming within yourself is far more useful than being aware of a thousand in someone else.
