If you like my show, it would be great if you can review it on my iTunes Podcast page here.

My most popular Instagram post recently — Chandelier!

Article I’m enjoying (and pondering)

There Are No Tariffs on Coffee. Care to Guess Why?

Interesting article explaining why Coffee trade is not restricted in America. But who know’s what happens in the coming future.

What I’m reading/watching/listening to — These two songs are running back to back on my iPhone from past week.

  • The Chainsmokers – Paris – This song has a different kind of feeling. Feeling of being in love. Listen it once and I bet you’ll listen to it endless times.
  • Ed Sheeran – Shape of You

Quote I’m pondering on lately – Remembering Maya Angelou again for the quote of the week!

“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.”

― Maya Angelou

Until Next Saturday!

Thanks for reading.

Why is it required you say? Cause I want to keep my personal Facebook and my artwork Facebook separate. I know it sounds like a lot of work, but it’s better for the long term. So please check it out and give it a Thumbs-up. ?

Recent Purchase I’m really enjoying –

USB Reading light from Mi

This is an amazing piece of tech from Mi. This is the best reading light under Rs. 250 in my opinion. Just plug it in your computer’s USB slot and you are good to go without disturbing your family while working on your laptop in the night. It has 5 light intensity modes. Worth every penny.

My most popular Instagram post recently — Paradise Island!

I took this picture a few months back on a visit to Madh Island, I love the way this picture portraits a sliver of heaven.

Article I’m enjoying (and pondering)

How Facebook Is Transforming Disaster Response

A very interesting read from my November 2016 reading list. Facebook, having an audience of more than Billion people, can now turn disaster response into a wildfire with the help of notifications on the app on users’ phones.

What I’m reading/watching/listening to

Picture – IMDB

The White Helmets

I found this 40 minutes long documentary in my Netflix suggestions and I’m glad i found it. This is a documentary on The Syrian Civil Defense Force, also known as the White Helmets. This organisation is working in the war facing country Syria and are the first people to help/respond post an air strike or a land attack. They have saved more thousands of war victims, seen so many death but saved so many people. They are the true living heroes of this world we are living in. Even thought this film shook me to my core when I saw how Khaled (One of The White Helmets who died on 11th Aug 2016 during an air strike) saved a 10-day-old baby from the rubble of a collapsed building in 2014. The moment became known as the “miracle baby” rescue after the scene was caught on camera and went viral.

If you just have just 1 min, watch this video. You’ll get the hint of what I’m talking about.

Ahuja Lapel Microphone

This is an amazing Tie clip collar microphone. As I’m leaning more into recording pro audio, this mic is becoming my go to mic. The build quality of this mic is really sturdy and wire length is also really good. Plus this mic can directly go to my Nikon DSLR and provide a great clean Mono audio. I’ve linked the amazon link here, just click the picture to the left, if you’re interested in buying one.

Article I’m enjoying (and pondering) — I recently stumbled upon FEE.org via Mike Rowe’s podcast – The way I heard it with Mike Rowe and since then I’m really enjoying the long form articles from FEE.org. This is the latest one I read and found it really interesting.

The Benefits and Perils of Being Self-Employed

If you are starting up in your entrepreneurial efforts or thinking about it, this article is a must read.

What I’m reading/watching/listening to

Picture – IMDB

Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey

This is a fascinating documentary series that explores how we discovered the laws of nature and found our coordinates in space and time. Host of this docu-series is Neil deGrasse Tyson (Ph.D.), I am loving is curious but awkward presentation of the Cosmos.

A Quote I’m pondering on lately – Today’s quote is also inspired from above docu-series and Neil deGrasse Tyson.

“The good thing about science is that it’s true whether or not you believe in it.”

Post of the week – Well! This one is a poem written by me about 4 years ago.

Rosetta stone!

This poem re-emphasizes my belief that sometimes you don’t write a poem (or any work of art, for that matter), it gets written through you.

My most popular Instagram post recentlyMargarita

A good Margarita is a result of mixing in the well-diversified spirits and shaking it for quite a long time in a small Cask. Same is life; when you want something great, you put all the right ingredients, put all the hard work. You’ll get the Margarita you would want.

Article I’m enjoying (and pondering) — An interesting perspective on College by Tyler Curtis

Is College Even Worth It? There’s Every Reason for Doubt

For a non-engineering but more critical student, the answer is abundantly clear: It’s a big ‘No’. What they need to know can be taught more effectively at a lower cost by some other means. Good article.

What I’m reading/watching/listening toTony Robbins: I’m not your Guru

This is an overwhelming documentary on Tony Robbins. Just see how he accumulates his energy before delivering a powerful blasting, on stage entry, it might blow your mind. How he understands and feels the psychology of a fellow human is unbelievable. This documentary is definitely worth a watch if you are looking for even a slight bit of motivation.

Casablanca Movie Review from my last post-

If you want to see emotions depicted perfectly by a man, see Humphrey Bogart’s performance in this Movie. Just flawless. If you want to see the beauty in pure simplicity, watch Ingrid Bergman in this movie. She’s a delight to watch. This movie, in the end, might feel like a lot of emotions, a little hint of post-war life and a graceful sacrifice for love and of love. I would give this movie a 9.5 out of a 10. I cut .5 to not glorifying the killing shot in climax.

A Quote I’m pondering on lately – This is a quote I wrote, inspired by a picture of a girl with freckles.

“There is a beauty in the dark spots as well, just you need to sprinkle a hint of light.”

― Himanshu Sachdeva

Until Next Saturday!

Post of the week – Sharing an older post for today, as I was travelling and experiencing new things this past weekend. Nonetheless, the fresh post will come this week. Don’t be surprised if there are two!

Story of my first Half Marathon.

I wrote it in 2015. But whenever I’m off the track from my fitness regime, I open this post and read, it fires me up again to get back on course. So today I saw it again, yeah you guessed it right. Beast mode will be on now for next few months, as my little cheat vacation is over.

My most popular Instagram post recently3 monks

I clicked this picture in Sarnath, which is said to be the place where Buddha gave his first teaching after attaining enlightenment. This picture is special to me, whenever I’m troubled with the hustle of the multiple lives we live, I look at it and it calms me down.

Article I’m enjoying (and pondering)What Is Disruptive Innovation?

Interesting Harvard Business Review article refreshing us on the theory given by Harvard professor Clayton M. Christensen on Disruptive Innovation. I was recently introduced to this theory in a management session I attended. I will unfold a whole new perspective if you try to read it comprehensively. Highly recommended for young entrepreneurs or anyone trying to solve a world problem. The original piece can be found here from January 1995.

What I’m reading/watching/listening toCasablanca

This is a classic black & white movie from 1942! I’ve heard the name of this movie a lot of times before, but never cared to watch. Today while I was en-route to Bombay, I read about this movie in an on flight Magazine. This one is a favourite of many people. So I thought to watch it. It’s a classical drama, based on military, emotions and a tinge of world war 2. For storyline, I’m half way through it, so far so good. Can’t believe they could produce such videography (even if it’s B/W) back in 1942! Such great effort. Will provide you detailed review in next post.

A Quote I’m pondering on lately – Got the reference of the below quote from a great trainer from a recent session I attended.

“Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up, it knows it must outrun the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning in Africa, a lion wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the slowest gazelle, or it will starve. It doesn’t matter whether you’re the lion or a gazelle-when the sun comes up, you’d better be running.”

Until Next Saturday!

Thanks for reading.

This is mid of January already and SCMM (Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon) – 2017 is here. I’m running in SCMM from past 3 years. First was HM (Half Marathon) and last year I did my first FM (Full Marathon). This year I’m doing an FM again.

All set for tomorrow. Here is a picture of the prep.

Would you like to get a very short pentacle (5 items) e-mail from me every Saturday with the five coolest things I’ve found that week?

It might include books, music, articles, new hacks/tricks, photographs and last but not the least people.

These “Saturday-Pentacle” emails are only available if you subscribe to my e-mail newsletter. They will not be on the blog or anywhere else. This post is just a teaser to entice you to sign up.

Try it out for a week! Unsubscribing is easy, and there’s great stuff coming next Saturday.

Just submit your email address in the below form or right here –  and you’re set.

No spam, ever. Only great stuff.

Quick endnote – as a few of you guys have told me that emails are not delivering in the Gmail primary inbox and going to promotions tab in your Gmail. I suggest below two pro tips to get my email in your Primary inbox from next time.

  • Add my From email address ([email protected]) to your Google Contacts list.
Emails from your Google Contacts always go to their Primary inbox. So go ahead and add me to your contact list.
  • Move your emails to the Primary tab.
You can teach Gmail where to deliver your messages. When you move one of my emails from Promotions tab to the Primary tab, Gmail asks whether it should always deliver my emails in your primary inbox. So please do that. You can also read more about these Gmail Help instructions.

It’s 2017 already and this is the first weekly Saturday Pentacle post of 2017.

I’m excited. Let’s get to it.

Saturday-Pentacle – Week 1 – 2017

Greetings my internet friends,

Here are some popular links, thoughts, and articles for today’s “Saturday-Pentacle” e-mail newsletter. This is a free newsletter and goes out every Saturday only for my subscribed readers.

Enjoy!

Post of the week –  New year resolutions – 2017 – 2016 was a great year and 2017’s gonna be better. If only we keep putting the hard work and consciousness into our actions. Check out my this year’s New year resolution list, consisting of a report on last year’s New year resolutions. Hope it is of some inspiration to you as well.

My most popular Instagram post recently — Quintessence of life – I captured this photograph while walking in the streets of Bandra. This photo amazes me, how karma is isolated from religion.

Article I’m enjoying (and pondering) — The Associated Press style guide will no longer capitalize ‘internet’ – I was surprised to learn that ‘Internet’ can no longer be written that way legitimately. It is now ‘internet’ without the capital ‘I’.

What I’m reading/watching/listening toNarcos – I’m binge watching this Netflix series on the biggest drug lord, Pablo Escobar. I was disgusted by learning what power and money, when comes unearned, do to you. So I went on to learn more about his life and how he became what is history now and how he was killed by the Search Bloc.

A Quote I’m pondering on lately –

“The good in life does not depend on life’s length, but upon the use we make of it. It is possible, or rather usual, for a man who has lived long, lived too little.”

– Seneca the Younger

Until Next Saturday!

Thanks for reading.
